Abstract Population growth is a global issue that must be addressed with extreme caution in order to ensure long-term sustainability. India developing country experiencing tremendous population and urbanization. Small towns cities contribute less than half of Municipal Solid Waste Generation (MSW) whereas metropolitan 70 90%. The improper handling MSW dumping open land pollutes the ecosystem. It also poses serious threat human health. This study aims comprehend environmental implications an dumpsite Gobichettipalayam Erode district. principal goal this research identify effects chosen site on surrounding environment. Thus, groundwater soil samples were collected around analyzed for vital physico-chemical characteristics. sample was pH, electrical conductivity, moisture content, chloride, acidity alkalinity water EC, TDS, COD, BOD, acidity, chlorides, alkalinity, hardness toxic heavy metals. elevated chloride ranges near quality parameters COD BOD (Maximum 3200 500ppm) enforces immediate necessity converting into sanitary landfill. assessment dump its ecosystem found possible contamination issues, raising worries about environment’s viability. Hence present provides way go remedial measures sustainable technology implemented dumpsite.
